چکیده

Purpose We aimed to determine the safety and effectiveness of percutaneous endobiliary radiofrequency ablation malignant biliary obstructions with a temperature-controlled device. Methods In this single center retrospective study, total 62 consecutive patients obstruction were evaluated. Thirty who underwent metallic stent placement in study group 32 only stenting control group. Outcomes technical success, complications related procedure, patency, overall survival. Results All procedures technically successful both groups. There was no procedure-related mortality either Procedural complication rates similar between Although statistically not significant, two major (hemobilia requiring endovascular treatment) Median primary patency significantly longer than (223 days vs. 158 days; P = 0.016). survival also (246 198 0.004). Conclusion Percutaneous is safe feasible novel device obstruction. has potential improve

Temperature Controlled Radiofrequency Ablation

Since its introduction in 1987, radiofrequency (RF) ablation has developed to become the treatment of choice for symptoms caused by atrio ventricular (AV) reentrant tachycardia, isthmus related atrial flutter, AV-nodal reentrant tachycardia and to some extent also for certain types of ventricular tachycardias. The introduction of new cardiac activation mapping systems has further contributed to...

from the antegrade approach. From pedal access to wire retrieval, we spent an average of 22 minutes of procedure time (range, 15–30 minutes). Procedural time could have been saved if we resorted to the retrograde access prematurely. Lupattelli et al (7) cautioned against adopting SAFARI as a standard procedure. Their arguments regarding the risk of serious complications, such as flow-limiting d...

Cost-effectiveness of percutaneous radiofrequency ablation for malignant hepatic neoplasms

Health technology The health technology examined in the study was radiofrequency (RF) ablation, a minimally invasive technique for the treatment of malignant liver neoplasms, in particular hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and colorectal liver metastases (CLM). Percutaneous RF ablation involves the insertion of one or more electrodes into the tumour nodule under imaging guidance. A high-frequency ...

Cost-effectiveness of percutaneous radiofrequency ablation for malignant hepatic neoplasms.

PURPOSE Percutaneous radiofrequency (RF) ablation is a promising technique for the treatment of hepatic malignancies. However, its cost-effectiveness has not been established. The purpose of this study is to determine the cost-effectiveness of RF ablation compared to palliative care in the treatment of hepatocellular cancer and colorectal liver metastases. This study also seeks to evaluate the ...

Percutaneous Intraductal Radiofrequency Ablation Combined with Biliary Stent Placement for Nonresectable Malignant Biliary Obstruction Improves Stent Patency but not Survival

Although radiofrequency (RF) ablation has been accepted as a curative treatment modality for solid organ tumors, intraductal RF ablation for malignant biliary obstruction has not been widely described. The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility, safety, and efficacy (in terms of stent patency and survival) of intraductal RF ablation combined with biliary stent placement for nonresect...
